The problem of justice at the first order level, both in the Old Testament Scripture and contemporary world can be traced to human natural propensity to be egocentric: How can this natural propensity be tempered so that the human person can see the external other as the extension of the self that is deserving of consideration and respect regarding rights and justice?

Perpetrators of the acts of injustice at the first order level know that they are engaged in justice breaches but choose to pay lip service to justice. How can knowing and doing what justice demands be made to connect?
