Daniel Moulin-Stożek

Biography

Dr Moulin-Stożek is University Lecturer in Education at the University of Cambridge where he currently leads the Religious Education Postgraduate Certificate in Education and teaches Philosophy of Education on the Tripos.

He conducts empirical and theoretical research across the fields of values education, moral education and religious studies. His doctorate, completed at the University of Oxford in 2013, and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, explored religious identity construction among adolescent Christians, Jews and Muslims in English secondary schools.

He has a long-standing interest in interreligious dialogue. Between 2011 and 2013, as Chapel Director, he coordinated and pioneered a programme of interreligious events at Somerville College, Oxford supported by the Spalding Trust. He was subsequently Boursier d'excellence (Excellence Fellow) at the University of Geneva in the domain of interreligious research and dialogue.

Before taking up the position of University Lecturer at Cambridge, Moulin-Stożek pursued an interdisciplinary research agenda working on projects in Spain, Latin America and the UK. In the field of religious studies, Moulin-Stożek has published in venues including The Journal of Ecclesiastical History, Material Religion, and the Journal of Contemporary Religion among others. In education studies, Moulin-Stożek has contributed research articles to journals such as the British Educational Research Journal; Race, Ethnicity and Education; Journal of Moral Education; and, the Oxford Review of Education. His monograph on the educational thought of Leo Tolstoy is published by Bloomsbury.
